Dear All,
It was just another day for me, when I was driving back home from office in my little white car..waiting at a traffic signal near jodhpur crossing, when a Mercedes right ahead, made me feel of what someone else had and I didn't have. At that moment it felt that the only way I would be truly be happy, would be when I own a Mercedes. But what happened on Saturday the 3rd of January, 2009, altered my thought process. I realized.. how blinded I was with materialism. and the irony is.. it took a blind young boy..Mahesh Chudasma (my navigator).. to make me realize how blind I was. A blind showed me the way.
The rally started of at the BPA (Blind People Association) where our unsighted friend/Navigator joined us at 7 AM on Sunday.. smiling from ear to ear as he got a brand new sweatshirt which were given to all participants of the race. Just before we were flagged off before the race.. I couldn't help but smile to see people excitedly putting the fancy Stickers on their cars to show their assigned "No." .. .. it gave all the cars a Rally Car look.
The route passed first through roads.. then rough roads.. then terrible roads..dirt tracks .. and finally when we thought the worst was behind us.. we laughed as we drove through a field of crops in the middle of nowhere.. but I hand it to Mr. Satyavrat from Round Table who has designed this route as not only was it challenging but also showed us enchanting lakes, canals and beautiful Landscapes just outside Ahmedabad which I never knew existed ..especially..this near to home.
The race was against time where my mightily brave navigator without sipping even a drop of water read the directions encrypted in Braille..with such accuracy that even though we were in a field of crop with only a "Land for Sale" sign as a landmark.. we made it thru without much difficulty.
So to sum it all up..it was a great experience.. three close friends.. my little white car.. & a special person who was blind per say.. but guided us towards an assured victory in our attitudes.. taught me that one didn't need to have a Mercedes, to laugh.. and be happy.. hell..you didn't even need sight.

 As I had a chance to participate in the event, I decided to explore the truth in what everyone told me.. that it was a good cause. It was more than that.. It was a great Cause.

Papa received a call from an employee at Pacifica. Yesterday a participant stopped at La Habitat and was so much thrilled to see the flat scheme. He booked the flat there itself by giving whatever money he had in his wallet. The Pacifica guys were thrilled with the response and the coverage they got from the car rally.

Today morning, when I went to Rajpath Club, many badmintaon players who know me as a tabler , is very much intrested to know more about car rally and Round Table.
It is very good surprise for me as well as I am really thrilled that What a publicity we have got this year.
